Motueka’s zingy lemon-lime overtones make for a unique aroma hop.

Breeding/Development: New Zealand. Bred from a selection of New Zealand breeding stock and ⅓ Saaz. Motueka™ has found favor with some European breweries for its combination of noble heritage with southern hemisphere fruit. This triploid variety was developed by New Zealand’s HortResearch and is sometimes called “B Saaz.”

Brewing Application: Primarily aroma, but can easily be used as a dual-purpose hop. Its mixture of Saaz character with distinct lemon-lime citrus makes for a unique signature when used throughout the kettle in hoppy lagers, Belgian ales, or wheat beers.

Sensory: Sweet and resinous with zingy citrus and fresh herbal notes (basil, rosemary) and hints of dried orchard fruit around the edges.
